So I noticed we have quite a few people in the fleet with the Vesta ships. These ships are tough, quick, and have some pretty awesome consoles that come with them......and we are going to use none of them.
This build is designed to be able to heal, cleanse, and CC effectively while putting out outstanding dps for a science ship, and she certainly does just that.
The core of this build, is the Fleet Science consoles you get at the Embassy.
They look a little something like this
These consoles come in a couple different flavors, but the ones you want are the ones I posted above. The reason you want the + Plasma damage as this is a Plasma centric build, you want reduced threat because the damage you do will attract the big targets, and you can't heal if you die. Finally you want Emitter Array because this increases the shield heals you will be using
Next is the loadout.
This build is a broadside beam boat with the Omega Mk XII Plasma Torpedo. If you decide to stick with Beam Arrays like me, try to get at LEAST [Acc]x2 as beam boats need lots of Acc. All of my weapons were purchased at the Exchange, No fleet weapons on this ship at all.
I use 4 Purple Mk XI Plasma Infuser consoles, Mk XI Blue are cheaper, and just fine. I have 3 of the special Science consoles, 1 zero point romulan console and the Takyokenetic Lobi Crystal console that adds lots of CrtD. As always, I also have the Assimilated console and in this case I run Advanced Peragrin fighters, but it is recommended you run the Elite Scorpions.
Shields, Engines and Deflector are completely up to you.
If you have access to them, run the Romulan Hyper Plasma Torp or Experimental Beam Array along with the Zero Point energy console as they will provide an additional 10% Plasma Damage with the 2 set bonus. If you can get all 3, use em all. The set is amazing.
Next up I will discuss Boff loadout and skill choice. Here is mine.
2 Tactical Teams - Rotating these gives me nearly 100% shield distribution at all times.
2 Emergency Power to Shields - Rotating these 2 gives me 100% up time on the EptS buffs.
Attack Pattern Beta + Fire at Will III - Attack Pattern Beta is one of the strongest dps attack patterns in the game, and Fire at Will will apply the debuff to every single target within 10km. This not only increases your dps substantially but your groups as well.
Torpedo Spread II - Use on CD, great for getting stacking plasma dots on the target.
Reverse Shield Polarity - My OH SHIT shield cooldown, use sparingly.
Hazard Emitters I & III - With 2 HE you will be cleansing and healing like a boss. I use them more often to cleanse plasma/Shield drains on targets. Use them when they are off of CD
Transfer Shield Strength II - This is your shield heal, use it on whoever is being targeted but large enemies like Tactical Cubes or lots of spheres.
Gravity Well III - A very strong CC, use it when you have lots of targets around. This ability is also amazing when large target are about to die, it will pull in smaller ships that will cause a chain reaction. Use this skill wisely.
I use these doffs for this build.
It's pretty self explanatory why I chose these Doffs. Once I am able, I will upgrade the greens with blues or better.
Now that you can see how I set this ship up, I bet you are wondering how she performs. Well lets take a look.
This was in a pug Infected Space Elite group, I chose to run it in a pug because I didn't want someone like Merlin who runs a similar APB setup to be increasing my damage. This is the lowest this ship will ever do.
I nearly doubled the next highest players damage and although you can't see it, I healed 470k compared to the next highest 32k healing done.
This is a continuation of that parse. So I can break down what is contributing to this ships success.
So the first thing you will notice is that Beam Fire at Will III is nearly half of my overall damage. My FAWIII is hitting for nearly 1k a hit and is critting for about 5k. If you look at the next set it's my auto attack. My arrays are averaging 1k hits with nearly 6k crits. If any of you have ever used beams you know this is pretty high for an array to be hitting. This is because of the the nearly 150% plasma damage I have from the tactical and science consoles.
Next up is the Quantum Torpedos my fighters use. If you guys use the Elite Scorpions this number will be even highers.
After that, as you can see, not much else is hitting that hard. My Plasma torp is next up at only 221k damage compared to my fighters 631k.
I hope this gives some of you Vesta Captains a few ideas for builds. You can run a similar setup in any energy type, but you will see the best results from Plasma.
