Ok, someone had asked what the details were for my transphasic torpedo build, so here they are.
The main focus of this build is to do above average damage without having to penetrate shields or use the extremely narrow fire arc reminiscent of dual cannons. Tactic #1 involves high run passes so the forward torps fire when approaching, then aft torps fire as you run past the target...then turn and repeat. Tactic #2 involves launching torps on approach of target then imediately turn before reaching your target to launch rear torpedos. Tactic #2 keeps you at more of a distance from your target and works better against targets who are slow and have very restricted turn rates (i.e. borg cubes). Feel free to keep a distance, unlike energy weapons, torpedos are just as effective at 9.5km as they are at 1 km from the target.
The primary setup had two additional Rapid Reload Transphasic Torpedos in place of the Omega and Romulan Plasma torpedos. But those two plasma torpedos seem to be very effective with their constant plasma burn and rapid fire rate. So, as you will see, I included both plasma torpedos and replaced a tac console to help improve the plasma damage as well. However, that change reduces the direct hull damage and fire rate of the multiple transphasics. I haven’t yet determined which setup is more effective. The other future change I will make, is to the Engine and Deflector. Even though the Borg two piece set allows for hull heals, I will eventually replace them with the Adapted MACO Engine and Deflector. I see the two piece ability of Tactical Readiness being far superior as it adds +25% torpedo damage among other bonuses.
