Ship Dilemma, input appreciated.

Okay, here we go. Im just shy of 30 and getting a new ship.

Really not sure what to take. Ive been flying escorts and absolutely love them. In any sort of flying game ive always preferred a more nimble craft with some pace behind it.

(in the old xwing series all i flew were A-wings if i could help it)

However, at 30....the option is the defiant type ships and I abolutely detest them. I know, its crazy but i really hate the defiant.

Is going with a cruiser, or a science vessel going to really hinder me at all for levelling up? Im leaning towards the sci vessel, because of the nimbleness, it should be similar enough to what im already flying.

At 40 i have 2 ships waiting for me already @mcfail hooked me up with both mirror universe versions of the lvl 40 escort vessels. So im set with a ship i like at 40, and from what ive been reading those will last me quite a while.

Is grabbing an intrepid or cochrane at 30 going to hinder me that badly or should i just suck it up and get that ugly little dwarf ship lol.

Well I'll assume you've got a answer by now, but when u are leveling up playing the episode missions it really don't matter much in regards to end game. It may take you a little longer perhaps but Science abilities are nice too! So hey, give it a try if you really don't like the look of a ship.

Ended up grabbing the science vessel. Some fun abilities. Also got the enterprise c from a quest reward so I have a cruder to try as well!

Not having two tab stations is odd, and I need to get another science bridge officer but so far so good.

Actually I'm finding the tractor repulsor handy for dealing with small npc fighters that don't target easily.
